Whyte against Povetkin,2 WBC Heavy

fter night in Gibraltar, a rematch took place between Povetkin, and Whyte, for the WBC interim heavyweight title;

In August the Russian had made many bettors happy, and subverted the plans of the Matchroom boss, but tonight he could do nothing.

The boxing from this point of view is ruthless; the Russian has been frontal in front of Whyte and he looked like a bad copy of the athlete seen in August, but that’s how it went; he resisted four rounds, where he cashed some blows, some deadly, everything started immediately at the first round, and I think that cashing those blows, has then compromised the course of the match. White has been careful not to accelerate (granted that he has taken a few blows that went empty in the impetuosity to finish as soon as possible) but excluding this, has been very careful not to fall into the error of haste to finish. He has wisely administered, and led; working a lot with the jab that always hit the Russian, and shook him and exposed him to the right, as well as to dangerous situations; in the fourth round a series of blows have decreed the end of the match, where we repeat Povetikin, except in some moments, was not really present, and this makes us very sorry, we do not know it will be the age, the recovery time after the previous match were not enough, we do not understand what happened. The only sure thing is that Whyte, has won or rather won a lot, and now we think that there will be that assault on Wilder, who in our opinion will take the match with open arms.

Technically a jab that has kept away the Russian, a short right cross to the first that has been deadly a partial coverage of the right side of Whyte, not to incur to that left hook of the Russian, who could have closed at any time, or left uppercut; in short a good coverage of the body on the right side precisely; careful to anticipate him with the left and work promptly not to make him arrive at the target, the second round where Whyte brings a nice left followed by the right, but the Russian returns at the end of the round with a couple of shots, making it clear that it is always equipped with that kop that can land at any time, but the Englishman is careful and defends himself well, in the third Whyte works with the jab is always very careful in defense, and dodging a right hand he places a short right jab, deadly but the Russian always tries to bring his series, but Whyte controls. At the end of the fourth round where always the left jab makes the difference, then followed by the right, Povetkin tries to bring the series, but he always finds a very careful Englishman, who makes a right jab, another left and a right hook wide, followed by a left hook and the Russian has no more left hook and is stopped.

For now we congratulate Mr Whyte for his victory, Povetkin should be fine and we will see what plots they will weave, to bring or rather try to bring this other English boxer, as high as possible.
