Let’s start by saying that it was a good boxing weekend; really good, many good fights with some incredible guys ready to keep climbing the ladder that will take them to the top, and that already makes them shine, anything can happen in boxing.

Zaya is too strong for his opponent who we accredit him more as welterweight, Valenzuela, surely an indomitable warrior, given that with a broken nose he would have continued anyway, an ugly fracture which poured blood; what can we say, the technique of the very young Puerto Rican, who is constantly growing, is too superior, the defence still needs to be seen to perfection but after all boxing is risk…also; we really like Zaya with that jab which reminded us of our Giovanni (allow us to say it)…

Lopez wins his featherweight title, and asks for the unification with the Cuban, it would be a good match to see, who knows; to return to the match Gonzalez disappeared in the last two rounds, really a pity, technically he is fantastic, he lacks a bit of power but we really liked him, in some moments his technical dominance was absolute, really a pity for the drop, due to the blows suffered at the rhythm, and a good job to Lopez who seems to us more monochrome but hits a lot, takes and throws.

Zepeda took a bite out of Gesta, who in our opinion, despite his great skills, is really small to be in this category with the big guys, but business is the first…too bad the match was short, you can’t oppose such a power as Zepeda’s if you don’t have a power in addition to technique, and if you are smaller it’s even more difficult, we feel sorry for Gesta because we like him…but there is little to say about the absolute superiority of Zepeda both technical and tactical.
