Wait for big fight
If we exclude the, let’s say announced, victory of Nery over Carmona( a man who by profession took 7- 8 kg for this match)… this weekend did not give much spectacle at the boxing level.
Quadir Albright a promising American boxer challenged Roberto Gomez under welterweight but a little more than super lightweight to be precise, but that matters little. the very young talented American boy went down, at his home Philadelphia. I have had a look at Gomez’s boxing resume he is a very seasoned fighter, he is 31 years old a past with many international tournaments, and five wins before the limit, with this one; but I say for a fighter on the rise how can you pick a Mexican with a good jaw a very good punch and great experience to take him home, for a boy yes talented, but not equipped with enough power and prof experience to overcome such a tough obstacle, considering he was fight of the night. A wiser corner would have chosen a less iron man not gifted with this kd punch and less experience to let the young and really talented boy make a gradual growth. We hope he can recover and continue and we will see how it goes..
Looking forward to great fights, we report with sadness the death of Eder Jofre, a great ugile Hall of Fame who left us 72-2-4 his score, but two defeats in japan that always make discussion…really a great boxer and architect just to remember him, a hug champ.
