Think Berchelt, Povetkin.

Recently we have witnessed a series of defeats, by boxers, who can lose, but our analysis is about, how, it happened.

Berchelt, lost to Valdez, turning out to be a stand-in of what we are used to see, really a stand-in one, who enters the match after 4 rounds, and who is not able to express himself and to bring the shots he knows, to do his boxing; he is fine and we are happy about it.

Saturday night the thing concerned Povetkin, a very solid boxer with dynamite in his hands, but also he really could not even scratch or bring a blow, such as to be counted; it will be his 41 years?

Granted that the Russian had won in August, and that Berchelt was given as a winner…we wonder what changes in the space of a few months that then goes to affect the final result, in such a profound and unpredictable way.

The training, the recovery time of athletes who are a bit worn out, (compared to opponents)…because they have sustained a thousand battles, a preparation not adequate, not having respected a recovery plan, an adequate game plan, something happened at the physical level or during the preparation that we do not know? Well I do not know if it was one, or more than one of these factors, what we do know, is that we are sorry for what happens, increculi for how it happens and ready to bet that really this sport, which is at low or high levels (clear to high is more visible) make a mistake, does not really leave escape, a punch and everything can change, an error in every single phase of preparation and everything can be subverted.

We love boxing for this, we would like to always know the why and wherefore of things … but it does not always happen … sitting behind a computer even worse.
