Adesanya against Blachowicz UFC 259

On our site, we talk about boxing, sometimes we indulge in something by arguing other ring or cage sports; this is one of those times.

Tonight in Nevada, there was one of those matches that should have changed the history of the UFC.

At stake was the light heavyweight belt, contended between Jan Blachowicz (11-5, including 6 performances of the night) reigning UFC champion, and Isdrael Adesanya (10 ufc matches won, and 7 performances of the night) holder of the middleweight belt, who was trying to make UFC history, trying to become champion in another weight class.

In the first round, Isdrael gave the impression of being able to make a difference, and of being able to control, although it was clear that it would have been a hard fight; but from the second round onwards, the Pole, has shown that he can wear that belt, and has slowly begun to dominate the match, putting more shots, heavier (not only given the considerable difference in size, and power that do not always coincide), and especially showing that he wants to wear around his waist that belt.

Adesanya, has not made changes of pace, has not imposed his formidable game, has not moved his hands as he knows, has made a good match, has brought his blows, has also cashed some good blows, regardless of the quality of the blows put, and those suffered, but the champion Jan has been superior and above all more effective, has put back more blows, and in the last two rounds, those then decisive for the match has brought Isdrael to the ground and controlled him, still highlighting the difference in size, and technique in the fight on the ground.

Merit to Adesanya to have tried, highlighting, at least in this match, the limits (in our opinion the match should have been set with other timing, see the first round, but with higher rhythms, since the weight is the disadvantage that should have become an advantage; it is clear that if you are in front of a man in that way, in its timing, natural, you pay the duty; Jan is physically stronger and has more power in his blows, in fact in a couple of actions, it was very evident the displacement of Isdrael and the difficulty that resulted, good to save himself, then a consequential lack of power to be able to put in difficulty the champion Jan. Blachowicz on the other hand, has controlled, has put his blows, powerful low kick and punches (I repeat very obvious, the difference in size and power) has brought him down, and won; very happy because he was disadvantaged by bettors, looking at the past of Isdrael in his heavyweight matches (in kick) we knew the lack of power in this category;

Adesanya is a formidable athlete undisputed champion in his category, and will have to invent something to take this belt at a weight that is absolutely not his!

Blachowicz is the undisputed king of the light heavyweight, honor and praise to this champion, great!!!
