Big fight, big Champ, Haney
Great show, great match.
A very tactical match, the one between the undisputed champion of just twenty-one, Haney and the Gamboa phenomenon; Devin won the match, even if Gamboa, as always, did his job very well but in fact he never entered the match; this was amazing, because the American defense made a big difference.
Gamboa has tried and sometimes he has put some shots, but Haney in addition to never having been unprepared to take them, always manages to dirty them, those few who arrive are never clean. He also used that boxing textbook jab under, over; in some situations he has inserted deadly series from simple left right, to combinations with left hook, with incredible speed, and here we must acknowledge Gamboa who resisted proving to be a great fighter;
Someone will ask, that he was not able to win before the limit, but here we must focus on defensive mastery, which allowed him to win all the rounds, maybe the fifth could be even, really a super test. The Cuban has often tied up in the clinches and dictated his law of experience, so much so that he underwent an official call on the eleventh round, where he did what he had to to stay on his feet. Great match for lovers of tactical boxing, not sure for those who are used to seeing boxers face off, but really a fantastic match, where Gamboa proved that at almost 39 he is always a great boxer, and that Haney has a great future ahead, the shoulder looks perfect, and now I don’t know who is next for him. In my opinion the tour among the Americans will not, Garcia, Davis, Haney, Lopez, there would be “El Diamante” but here Haney in my opinion would risk .. let’s see what will happen, someone claims to wait for the winner between Garcia and Campbell, but I doubt that such a challenge will occur.
